Jo achieved a BA Hons in English Language and Literature from Oxford. Throughout university and beyond, artistic practice has been a constant companion. She then went on to work as an editor for a large publishing house, eventually going freelance and authoring several series of children's educational books. Frustrated by the lack of creative scope in publishing, she trained herself as a craft bookbinder, and spent over 10 years producing and selling bespoke fine leather-bound books. She still indulges this talent by binding her own sketchbooks.
After the birth of her two boys Jo has concentrated on painting the landscape. Although based in Oxfordshire, she splits her painting between here and Somerset and Dorset, her childhood home. She sketches in all weathers, throughout the year, and explores the country with the help of her dog and a tough sketch pad!
